1. (acvc.tgz,2819 KBytes) The current Ada Compiler Validation Capability test suite (ACVC 1.11).

2. (bench.tgz,33 KBytes) A suite of timing and sizing benchmark programs written in "C", Ada, Fortran and Pascal. The first program in the suite is the Whetstone benchmark, which measures processor speed. This benchmark suite is available in "C", Ada, Fortran and Pascal. The other program in the suite is the Dhrystone benchmark. The Dhrystone benchmark measures statement execution per unit time. Dhrystone is available only for Ada.

3. (piwg.tgz,300 KBytes) PIWG (Performance Issues Working Group of ACM SIGAda): over 200 files including Whetstone, Dhrystone, and other benchmarks which test various attributes of the Ada language and their implementations under specific compilers. [ES (..Numerous..)]

5. (adafr85.abs,462 KBytes) ADAFAIR85 contains a set of tests/benchmarks used to compare various Ada compilers. [ES (VAX/VMS)]

6. (jpmobnch.abs,133 KBytes) This tool is a series of very simple benchmarks which are used to test the validity of various assumptions that one might make about the behavior of a compiler. Probably all the implicit assumptions are valid, these tests just check that something has not been overlooked that could severely distort detailed quantitative tests. [NR]

(bgt.abs,85 KBytes) Benchmark Generator Tool (BGT): allows the user to demonstrate functionality and capacities of the proposed Ada compilation systems being examined and to gain an understanding of the compilation system's ability to handle software representative of the scale and complexity of the software system to be developed. 12. (aces.tgz,10545 KBytes) Ada Compiler Evaluation System (ACES), Version 2.0. The ACES is not just a test suite -- it defines a process for evaluating Ada83 compilers and a set of support tools.
