Dr. Michael Berger: Intelligent Mobile Systems - from Consumer to Industrial Applications
Beside technologies like sensors, actors, communication, security,
context data management and intelligent technologies on the
application level provide the real use of the internet of things and
make smart environments possible. The presentation gives an overview
of such technologies developed and applied at Siemens Corporate
Technology in several consumer oriented and industrial domains.
Examples of such smart environments range from tourism, home and
living, elderly care and emergency prevention, to manufacturing and
control, transportation, maintenance and workforce support. An summary
and outlook gives the speakers view for future developments.
BIO Michael Berger
Michael Berger holds a diploma in Electrical Engineering (information
technology) and a Ph.D. in Computer Science (distributed computing)
from Dresden University of Technology. He has been involved in
Computer Science research for the last 14 years, specializing in
Distributed Systems and applications, Mobile and Ubiquitous Systems,
and Intelligent-Agent and Multi-Agent Systems research.
Since 1997 Dr. Berger is a member of Siemens Corporate Technology (CT)
in Munich, involved in several technical and team management functions
including being responsible for the technology and competence fields
"Mobile and Ambient Intelligence Technologies" and currently "Agent
Technologies" at Siemens CT, Intelligent Autonomous Systems.
Dr. Berger has more than 40 scientific publications, several invited
talks and key notes, has organized several scientific workshops, is
reviewer for many workshops and conferences as well as the EU
commission and is a lecturer in the area of Agent Technologies as well
as Mobile and Ubiquitous Computing at Dresden University of Technology
and Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich.
